A few ideas to make citizen testimony run more smoothly:
Would it be possible to get a big countdown clock so individuals providing testimony can clearly see how much time is left? And we should consistently tell speakers that they have 3 minutes and be firm but kind about that time limit.
Before we start citizen testimony can we hear the total count of people signed up so that we know how much time is going to be devoted to citizen testimony?
If we have more than 10 individuals, we may want to consider reducing the allotted time to 1 minute. This is what City Council does to make their meetings more manageable and predictable for everyone.
A lot of our citizen input is specific to work order issues at Rosemont. I'd prefer we not do a back-and-forth with property management during the citizen input portion and instead go issue-by-issue during the Rosemont update part of the agenda, potentially asking for resident feedback at that time. For now, we should also make the Rosemont property management update the first part of the agenda after approval of the minutes. I think this will be more time-efficient and lead to more constructive outcomes faster.
I am sure others have good ideas or improvements on these suggestions, and am happy to work with those interested in improving the flow and effectiveness of our meetings.
